Declarado por la UNESCO, Obra Maestra del Patrimonio Oral e Intangible de la Humanidad en el 2003,el Carnaval de Barranquilla es el más grande  de Colombia.  Aproximadamente un millón y medio de personas asistieron al Carnaval en el 2010.

The Carnival  of Barranquilla was proclaimed by UNESCO, in November 2003, as one of the Masterpieceof the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. This is the most important Carnaval in Colombia. Over half a million people attented last year.

Barranquilla is the capital of the Atlantico Department. The Culture is a mix of   Spanish ,

African, Lebanes, Italian, Jews. Shakira is a Barranquillera
